Deeply rooted in Italian local traditions, the Dolce&Gabbana Casa glass collection celebrates the country’s rich artisanal heritage.

From the blowing of Murano glass to the shaping of borosilicate, every process, strictly Made in Italy, contributes to the creation of one-of-a-kind pieces.
With distinctive silhouettes and a vibrant palette of nuances, these glasses bring a touch of style and refined uniqueness to any table setting.

The heritage and charm of Murano glass

A true symbol of the Venetian Lagoon, Murano glass is the result of time-honoured processes shaped by centuries of expertise and a craftsmanship renowned worldwide.

In Venetian workshops, molten glass is shaped through mouth-blowing. The shape of the glass bubble is defined by a metal mould, which rapidly cools the material while imprinting the desired design for each type of glass

The stem, hand-pulled, features slight irregularities that become a mark of uniqueness and a testament to its artisanal origin.
The foot is shaped with pear-wood tongs, chosen for their ability to withstand heat and retain moisture, creating unique, visible concentric lines — each one mark of precious Made in Italy craftsmanship.
Once assembled, the glass is tempered in the furnace, cooled, and finished with a finely engraved Dolce&Gabbana logo beneath the base.

Measuring the right amount of glass to be blown, to achieve consistent proportions in every piece, demands remarkable sensitivity and precision.
The slight variations that remain are a testament to the artisanal process and an integral part of its aesthetic.

Blu Mediterraneo Glasses

In the Blu Mediterraneo-themed glass, the stem is adorned with a textured sphere.
The upper part of the glass, also known as the bowl, is decorated with an impression of the iconic motif, enhanced by the Dolce&Gabbana logo.
The design is first hand-drawn and then meticulously engraved by the artisan with millimeter-perfect precision using a specialized tool.

Leo Glasses

In the Leo-patterned glass, the renowned murrina technique is employed to replicate the iconic motif.
Carefully sifted black Murano glass pebbles are applied to the still-warm, shapeless amber base, which, fixed to the blowing cane, incorporates them into its surface as it rotates.
The result is a marbled effect that faithfully recalls the brand’s signature motif.

Carretto Siciliano Glasses

The creation of the Carretto Siciliano-themed glasses requires a dedicated furnace, essential for managing the wide color range of this pattern.
Three traditional Murano glass techniques — ‘Rigadin’, ‘Balloton’, and ‘Torsion’ — give rise to different designs of the bowl. The texture is impressed onto the surface using a mould.

Borosilicate Glasses

Borosilicate glass, renowned for its lightness and durability, is crafted from precisely cut tubular forms.
Heated and shaped with a blowtorch, the tubes take the shape of the glass under the hands of a single artisan, who oversees the entire process at the workbench.

The bowl is placed into a graphite mould, a material that allows for slow cooling.
A rich variety of decorations emerges: from the murrina technique for the Blu Mediterraneo motif to hand-painting with colored glass for the Carretto Siciliano pattern.
In the latter, the artisan traces the design with a glass rod while rotating the glass with the other hand, achieving a precise and harmonious decoration — a feat made possible only by their exceptional sensitivity and extensive expertise.
